On this page we explain the basics you should know about what we do with the personal data you give us, what this data is and who can see it.

It’s more important than it sounds, especially nowadays, so please take the time to read it carefully:

Who we are

Our website address is: https://extremeworkouts.net (hereinafter Extreme Workouts, EW, the site, we, us, the app or the shop).

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When you leave comments on the site, mostly on the blog or on profiles of other athletes, we collect the data displayed in the comment form (name, email) as well as IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymous string created from your email address (also called a hash) can be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service’s privacy policy is available here.

After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (GPS EXIF) included. Visitors to the website could download and extract any location data from the images on the website. In principle you should not upload images to our website for anything other than your profile picture.

Contact forms

In order to be able to follow up on your message we will store any personal data that may be contained in your message, such as email address, email address, first and last name or even address.
This information is necessary for us to be able to reply to you.

Orders

When you place an order we will store your shipping and billing information (not your credit card or payment method). Invoicing data can only be viewed by the tax and administration department.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you can choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set several cookies to store your login information and your on-screen display options. Login cookies last for two days, and display options cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember me”, your username will remain for two weeks. If you log out of your account, your login cookies will be deleted.

Emails

You may need to contact us at some point. Obviously, in order to help you and to keep track of the reason you have written to us, we will keep some personal information you may have given us.

Analytics

In order to study how many people visit our website and what they do on it, we use the services of Google Analytics. Here we are given statistical data that we will use to try to make your browsing easier.

Who we share your data with

You will only have access to the personal data necessary to do your job:

  • Courier company: they need to see your name and address so that you can receive your order at home.
  • Consultancy: for quarterly and annual tax calculations they pass on their accounts to us, so they need to be able to access the invoices we make.

How long we keep your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so that we can recognise and approve any comments from you automatically rather than keeping them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also view and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data that we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments can be viewed through an automated spam detection service called Akismet.
